Both Land O' Lakes High Schools Get 'A' Grades
The 2013-14 grades released by the state Thursday show an improvement for Land O' Lakes High School.

No matter where they go, students at Land O’ Lakes’ high schools are attending classes on campuses that have received an ”A” grade from the state.
That’s the word out of Tallahassee Thursday with the official release of the 2013-14 high school grades. Sunlake High School maintained its ”A” grade from last year while Land O’ Lakes High brought its ”B” up to an ”A.”
Grading reports across the county are a mixed bag outside of Land O’ Lakes, but none of the district’s high schools received a ”D” or an ”F.” This, as the district pointed out in a media release, is despite the state’s increase in the grading scale difficulty.

Pasco County also saw its graduation rate increase from 75.9 percent to 79.4 percent. The state average is 76.1 percent.
“I’m ecstatic about the significant increase in our graduation rate,” said Superintendent Kurt Browning. “I can also say that I’m pleased that most of our schools either maintained or raised their grades, especially when the bar was set higher this year, but I’d still caution anyone from reading too much into these grades,” he added.
