Cinderella Project Returns To Pasco For Prom Season

Young ladies in financial need can obtain prom dresses at no charge.

LAND O’ LAKES, FL — The Cinderella Project of Pasco is returning again this year to provide high school girls in need of prom finery a place to turn for help.

Now in its 13th year of serving high school girls in Pasco County, the project offers girls in financial need countywide free prom-style dresses and all the necessary accessories. Those accessories include costume jewelry, shoes and purses. The program accepts donations of new and gently used items in excellent condition, as well.

As prom season draws closer, project organizer Julie Rockwell said there is a particular need for large size dresses and shoes. Cash donations are also accepted to purchase new items.

Maria’s Bridal Connections, 9332 Little Road, in New Port Richey has stepped forward this year to give the program a boost. Women who bring gently used formal gowns in as donations to the project will get up to $75 off the purchase of new, regularly priced gowns. Donations may also be dropped off at Raymond James, 9040 Tryfon Blvd., Suite A-104, in the Trinity Town Center.

“Our goal is to be sure no young lady misses her prom because of lack of funds”, said Rockwell.
