Cops: Couple Left 3 Babies Home Alone to Shop at Walmart

A Land O’ Lakes couple’s late-night shopping trip Saturday ended with a ride to jail.

Pasco County Sheriff’s deputies say the two, Liz Marie Diz-Riveria, 23, and Joshua Vazquez-Aliers, 23, left home Saturday night to pay a visit to the Walmart in Lutz. The problem is they left three children, ages 2, 2 and 1, home alone when they did.

“Deputies found one of the children in a playpen with a soiled diaper and an empty bottle,” the sheriff’s office wrote on its Facebook page. “Also inside the home were several loaded guns in plain view.”

The two were booked into the Land O’ Lakes Jail on three counts of child neglect each. They both remained behind bars on Monday in lieu of $15,000 bond each.
