Details Emerge in Young Brothers' Deaths
Investigators have revealed more information about last week's murder-suicide in Hudson involving two children.

As Pasco County detectives continue their investigation into a Hudson murder-suicide involving young brothers, more details are emerging about what happened the evening of March 25.
According to the sheriff’s office, the incident unfolded at 16916-8 Bachmann Avenue as Kevin Pimentel, 12, was preparing to make fish sticks for dinner. Kevin asked his older brother, Trevor, 16, to assist. Trevor got up from the living room and went into the kitchen to help, an email to media from the agency stated.
With Trevor in the kitchen, Kevin left the room and went to the back of his family’s two-bedroom mobile home. He returned with a .38-caliber revolver.

“Kevin walked to Brady’s room, which is where he fatally shot Brady, 6,” the email said. “Trevor immediately checked on his brother and then returned to the kitchen where Kevin was
standing with the gun.”
Kevin, deputies say, approached Trevor, but Trevor pushed him away. At that point, Kevin, deputies say, shot Trevor in the leg and then turned the gun on himself.

Trevor survived the incident, but Brady and Kevin did not.
Initial reports last week indicated the shooting was prompted by a dispute between the brothers. Deputies now say no argument occurred.
“From our investigation, it does not appear there was a specific argument that precipitated this event,” the email said. “Initially, Trevor told responding deputies that they were preparing fish sticks and that his two brothers argue a lot, which may have been the source of the initial statement regarding an argument over fish sticks.”
The Pasco-Pinellas Medical Examiner’s Office has ruled Brady’s death a homicide and Kevin’s a suicide.
The firearm used in the shootings was kept inside a case and stored on the top shelf of a closet, the sheriff’s office noted. The family of five shared the small home. Brady had his own room, but the other three brothers shared the second. The 18-year-old brother was not at home of the time of the shooting. He has not been identified by deputies.
The boy’s mother, Helen Campochiaro, did not have her own room. She slept in the living room, the sheriff’s office noted.
Campochiaro, 38, launched a gofundme campaign one day before the shootings to help her secure deposits to move her family into a larger home.
The motive for last week’s shootings remains unknown.
“Pasco Sheriff’s Office detectives continue to investigate the possible motive behind Kevin Pimentel’s actions,” the email said. “This includes reviewing his computer files, personal journal, and interviewing friends and family members.”
The State Attorney’s Office will review the case to determine if any charges related to the gun’s storage will be filed.
No further details are available at this time.
