Donald Trump, Rick Scott Team-Up Possible, Pundits Say
As Donald Trump's momentum at the polls continues, speculation is running high about possible vice presidential picks.

TALLAHASSEE, FL — As Donald Trump continues to rack up wins in early primary states, speculation is running high on just who the Republican frontrunner might choose as a running mate.
While there are still plenty of state primaries to get through before the Republican National Convention takes center stage in Cleveland in July, Trump has come out ahead in Nevada, South Carolina and New Hampshire so far. Although he only pulled off a second-place win in Iowa, momentum and the polls seem to be on his side.
Rasmussen reported Tuesday that former Gov. Jeb Bush’s decision to pull out of the race has increased Trump’s lead for the Republican presidential nomination. Trump led Rasmussen’s latest poll of likely Republican voters with 36 percent support. Sen. Marco Rubio earned second place with 21 percent with Sen. Ted Cruz trailing in third with 17 percent.

With Super Tuesday only days away, those numbers bode well for Trump. Voters in Alabama, Alaska, Arkansas, Colorado, Texas and a host of other states will make their nomination choices known March 1. While Florida’s Presidential Preference Primary doesn’t take place until March 15, polls focused on Sunshine State voters continue to give Trump the likely lead in Florida.

As Trump continues to hold a dominate lead in the polls, attention is beginning to turn to the businessman’s likely choice for running mate. On Tuesday, the Washington Post floated a short list of potential vice presidential candidates with Florida Gov. Rick Scott ranking high. Scott’s private sector experience and track record of taking on “the Florida Republican establishment” make him a real contender, the Post asserts.
Other potentials include former Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin and South Carolina Gov. Nikki Haley.
The Trump campaign has not yet begun to release names of potentials, but that could change if the candidate keeps his momentum going through Super Tuesday.
