DUI Wolfpack Announced for Pasco, Hillsborough

Tampa Bay area motorists may want to think twice about hitting the road without a designated driver this weekend.

The Florida Highway Patrol has announced that a multi-county DUI Wolfpack Operation is planned for Saturday night and into Sunday morning in a three-county area. Troopers will hit the road around 10 p.m. Saturday until about 4 a.m. Sunday, covering the Veterans and Suncoast expressways in Pasco, Hillsborough and Hernando counties.

The operation is being conducted out of the Land O’ Lakes sub-district.

With Saturday marking game five in the Tampa Bay Lightning’s Stanley Cup Finals run, sports bars and other establishments should be hopping that evening.

“Everyone is reminded to not drink and drive and plan in advance for events where alcoholic beverages are

consumed by utilizing designated drivers, taxi services or holding events where driving is not necessary,” a media release on the operation stated. “Should motorists encounter impaired drivers they are urged to contact the FHP by calling *FHP (*347).”
