A family with five children is homeless following a fire that broke out Wednesday night in the Dade City area.

According to Pasco County Fire Rescue, the blaze was reported around 8:14 p.m. at 19118 U.S. 301. When rescue crews arrived, the home was heavily involved in fire.

“A total of eighteen firefighters from three different stations were on the scene to fight the fire,” county spokesman Doug Tobin wrote in an email to media. “Although the fire was quickly contained to mainly the front part of the home, the structure was deemed a total loss.”
