Man Crashes While Trying To Go 'Back to the Future'
The Florida man's time travel experiment didn't quite fly with Pensacola police.

PENSACOLA, FL — A Florida man’s attempt to go back to the future fell flat recently when his Dodge Challenger crashed into a building instead of materializing in the past.
That’s according to the Pensacola Police Department, which investigated the unusual crash that occurred Dec. 20 on North Davis Highway. According to the agency, the man told police he wanted to “time travel,” so he drove the car straight into the Advance Tax Services office at 10:50 a.m.
Rather than recreate the fictional feat pulled off by Marty McFly and Dr. Emmett Brown, the unidentified man wound up with a damaged building and car on his hands. Sgt. Martez Lawrence said no one was inside the building at the time, so no injuries were caused by the stunt. The would-be time traveler also escaped injury, police reported.

The building, however, wasn’t as lucky. It suffered extensive damage as the car drove through it, coming to a rest outside its rear double doors, the Pensacola News Journal reported.

There’s no word on whether the Challenger was equipped with a flux capacitor.
Police have not identified the man behind the wheel, but said he was taken to a local facility for evaluation. Charges have not yet been filed, the agency noted in its press release.
