No School Monday for Some Bay Area Kids
Several counties are giving the kids a three-day weekend.
School kids in a few Tampa Bay area counties can keep their alarms off Monday morning and cram in an extra day of weekend fun.
Courtesy of the end of the first grading period, public school students in Pasco, Hillsborough and Manatee counties get Monday, Oct. 26 off. Students in Pinellas County Schools were off Oct. 19 for their teacher planning day to wrap up the first grading period.
Sarasota County students will find Friday, Oct. 30, is their planning day, which means they get a long Halloween weekend.

Aside from the teacher planning day, the next day off for some kids is Veterans Day, Nov. 11. The holiday is observed in Hillsborough and Manatee counties. Sarasota, Pasco and Pinellas kids have school on that day, according to district calendars.
