Pasco County Readies For Valentine's Day Weddings

A group ceremony will be staged on the lawn of the historic courthouse.

DADE CITY, FL β€” Tampa Bay area residents hoping to say their vows this Valentine’s Day are invited to take part in a group ceremony on the lawn of Pasco County’s historic courthouse.

Located at 37918 Meridian Ave. in Dade City, the brick classical revival building is listed on the National Register of Historic places. It’s served as the site for Valentine’s Day group wedding ceremonies since 2009. To date, 133 couples have exchanged vows during the county’s annual ceremony.

This year’s ceremony will be overseen by Judge Candy Morris VanDercar at 2 p.m. on Sunday, Feb. 14. The Pasco County Clerk & Comptroller’s Office is once again facilitating the festivities.

β€œIt is breathtaking to see this celebration of love and friendship on Valentine’s Day and we look forward to meeting the new couples,” said Pasco clerk Paula S. O’Neil.

Couples may register for the Valentine’s Day ceremony when they apply for their marriage licenses. Licenses must be applied for by Feb. 10. Couples taking part in the ceremony are asked to arrive by 1 p.m. on Valentine’s Day with their licenses and identification in hand.
