Pasco Deputies Hope to Ignite Support for Special Olympics

The agency's 2015 torch run is set to take place in late April.

Tampa Bay area residents with a passion for running and a desire to support the Florida Special Olympics are invited to attend the 2015 Pasco Law Enforcement Torch Run.

Set for Monday, April 27, at 9 a.m. the 2.3-mile run starts at the Pasco High School stadium, 36850 State Road 52, and ends at the Historic Pasco Courthouse, 37918 Meridian Ave. in Dade City. Pasco Sheriff Chris Nocco, deputies, police officers, Special Olympians and supporters of the nonprofit games are all expected to run.

Runners who want to participate will find there is no fee to take part. The event is designed to help build awareness for Florida Special Olympics. Funds are raised through the sale of shirts and hats, if runners so choose.
