A Pasco County man was killed Saturday after the sheriff's office said he broke into the home of his estranged wife's family

LAND O' LAKES, FL — A Pasco County man was killed Saturday after the sheriff's office said he broke into the home of his estranged wife.
According to the Pasco County Sheriff's Office, just after noon Ronald Fleet, 55, broke into the Sunset Lakes subdivision home of his estranged wife's family. The couple was in the process of getting divorced.
Fleet, who was armed with a handgun, kicked the door open and entered the house. The homeowner and Fleet exchanged gunfire. Fleet initially backed off but then charged back inside. At that point, the homeowner shot and killed him.

“Any loss of life is tragic, but the victim was utilizing his Second Amendment right to protect himself and his family from Ronald who was carrying a gun and kicking in the door. I can’t imagine the fear they were going through," said Sheriff Chris Nocco.
