Pasco Property Appraiser Clerk Arrested For Filing False Deed

A property appraiser clerk in the Pasco County Property Appraiser's Office has been arrested for fraud after reportedly filing a false deed.

DADE CITY, FL -- A property appraiser clerk in the Pasco County Property Appraiser's Office has been arrested for fraud after reportedly filing a false deed.

The Pasco County Sheriff's Office arrested Leticia Molina, 43, of 14929 17th St., Dade City, Thursday, April 12 after Property Appraiser Gary Joiner contacted the sheriff's office about a deed discrepancy.

The property appraiser's office became suspicious when the Pasco County Clerk of Courts received two deeds for the same property, located at 15320 16th St., Dade City. When the county looked into matter, it discovered Molina reportedly filed a false deed using her son's name as a grantee on the property and Robert Ramirez as the grantor. A public records search showed the deed was actually in another person's name.

A witness said Molina provided the deed to her before it was submitted to the clerk's office.

When questioned, Molina admitted to preparing the deed from a template. It was determined the victim did not know Molina and had no intention of selling her property.

Molina has been charged with unlawful filing of a false document against real/personal property, a third-degree felony, and grand theft, a first-degree felony.
