Pasco Schools Open Monday
The district has announced no change in plans due to anticipated heavy rains.

Pasco County school kids hoping for a long weekend courtesy of the former Tropical Storm Erika are out of luck.
The school district announced just before 2 p.m. Sunday that those morning bells will ring on time Monday.
“Due to the dissipation of Tropical Storm Erika, my staff and I have made the decision to keep schools open on Monday,” Superintendent Kurt Browning said in a statement released to media.

While Erika has broken up, concerns about the rain she may dump on the region persist. The entire Tampa Bay area, including Pasco County, remains under a flood watch until 8 p.m. Monday. Forecasters anticipate 3 to 5 inches of rain between Sunday afternoon and Monday evening with heavier rain in some areas.
