Update: Powdery Substance Found in Bright House Mail
Two people have been taken to the hospital as a precaution.

Update Oct. 1, 2:50 p.m.: The powdery substance found in Bright House Network’s mail was calcium carbonate, The Tampa Tribune is reporting. The substance is commonly used as an antacid.
The Wednesday morning discovery caused the Wesley Chapel Bright House office to close and led to Pasco officials calling in Hillsborough County’s HAZMAT team to investigate. The powder was found in an envelope mailed from Kissimmee along with a note that said, “Goodbye, friend.”
Earlier: Pasco County officials are investigating an incident that occurred at Bright House Networks’ Wesley Chapel office Wednesday morning.

When workers were going through the morning’s mail, they came across a “white powdery substance,” according to Pasco County spokesman Doug Tobin. Emergency workers were then called out to the 30432 State Road 54 business.
Two people were transported to a local hospital as a precaution.

It is unclear at this time what the substance is or if the people exposed were showing symptoms.
