1 Killed, 1 Injured After Tesla In Autopilot Mode Drove Off Pasco Road: FL Troopers
An 87-year-old Wesley Chapel man was killed and his passenger was injured when his Tesla Y in autopilot mode drove off the road, FHP said.

WESLEY CHAPEL, FL — An 87-year-old Wesley Chapel man died Tuesday night after the Tesla Model Y he was driving in autopilot mode drove off the road and became submerged in a pond, the Florida Highway Patrol said in a news release.
He was traveling on Overpass Road when his SUV drove off the road, east of Infinite Drive, just after 8 p.m.
The SUV hit an electrical box and continued into a pond, FHP said.

The man was brought to an area hospital, where he later died from his injuries.
His passenger, a 75-year-old Wesley Chapel woman, suffered non-life-threatening injuries and was also taken to an area hospital.
