Pasco Sheriff Says 'Romeo Bandit' Stole Flowers, Teddy Bear

The teen was caught on surveillance cameras at various stores stealing, among other items, flowers and a giant teddy bear.

LAND O' LAKES, FL -- Even before 18-year-old Roman Alexander Delvecchio of Land O' Lakes turned himself into the Pasco County Sheriff's Office, deputies had given him a nickname: the Romeo Bandit.

That's because Delvecchio was caught on surveillance cameras at various stores stealing, among other items, flowers and a giant teddy bear.

Sheriff's deputies said Delvecchio went on a romantic shopping spree on Sunday, Feb. 3. Unfortunately, said deputies, he arrived to the shopping spree in a stolen car and used stolen credit cards for his purchases.

Deputies say Delvecchio stole a Hyundai Elantra on Feb. 1 from a driveway in Lutz. The owner's purse and wallet with credit cards were inside the stolen car. Deputies say Delvecchio used the credit cards to purchase $141 in items, including the flowers and teddy bear, at the Walmart at 1575 Land O' Lakes Blvd., the 7-Eleven at 2400 Land O' Lakes Blvd. and a Wawa in Wesley Chapel.

When he realized he'd been captured on surveillance video at the businesses, Delvecchio turned himself in to the sheriff's office.
