Sheriff's K9 Farrell followed his nose to the spot where the accused car burglar was hiding.

NEW PORT RICHEY, FL -- Dog didn't prove to be man's best friend for two New Port Richey residents.

At around 3 a.m. Monday, Jan. 29, the Pasco County Sheriff's Office received a call from a resident of the Gulf Harbors Sea Forest community reporting a car burglary in process.

Sheriff's K9 Farrell and his handler, Deputy Jeremie Garcia, responded to 6043 Randan Court, New Port Richey, where the burglary was reportedly taking place. There were no burglars in site by the time deputies arrived. However, Farrell was able to follow his nose to a hiding spot where he found Joshua Murray, 22.
