State Road 54 Traffic Delays Expected

Motorists traveling through Wesley Chapel might want to plan for possible delays along State Road 54.

Pasco County says it’s closed one lane in each direction along the roadway near Interstate 75.

A contractor accidentally hit a force main Wednesday, causing the need for emergency repairs, spokesman Doug Tobin wrote in an email to media.

“Pasco County Road and Bridge will have utility crews preparing the road for the asphalt, which is scheduled to happen this afternoon,” Tobin said.

Motorists can also plan on seeing some extra truck traffic in the area.

The hope is to have the road repaired by Thursday night, pending weather delays.
