Pasco County Tax Collector Mike Fasano announces that nearly $4,000 was raised in August for the Florida AAA Traffic Safety Foundation.

Pasco County Tax Collector Mike Fasano announces that nearly $4,000 was raised during the office’s August promotion on behalf of the Florida AAA Traffic Safety Foundation. Through the generosity of residents in our community students and adults will be the beneficiary of lifesaving bicycle and automobile equipment as well as educational training on traffic safety issues.

During the month of August the Pasco County Tax Collector’s Office shined the spotlight on the Florida AAA Traffic Safety Foundation as its featured charitable organization. Through the voluntary automobile registration and renewal check-offs, as well as direct cash donations from the public, the Florida AAA Traffic Safety Foundation will be able to purchase booster seats, bike helmets, educational materials and other important bicycle and vehicle safety devices for Floridians of all ages.

“Thank you to everyone who took the time to donate to the Florida AAA Traffic Safety Foundation during the month of August,” states Tax Collector Mike Fasano. “The AAA is one of the most respected organizations in the nation. The funds raised through this promotion will benefit Florida in general and the residents of Pasco County and surrounding communities in particular.”

Additionally, the Florida AAA Traffic Safety Foundation allows seniors to have their vehicles inspected to ensure that their safety equipment is functioning properly. The donations made during the promotional event will also help educate children and adults about the dangers of texting and driving as well as the dangers and penalties that driving while impaired may have on the driver and everyone else in a vehicle.

“We thank Pasco County Tax Collector Mike Fasano and his staff for leading the way as traffic safety advocates during our Safe Summer campaign,” said Michele Harris, director of traffic safety culture, Auto Club Group Traffic Safety Foundation. “Their office is a valuable partner in our mission to keep people safe on the road, and their fundraising efforts will help save lives and reduce injuries.”
