Veterans Day 2015 Freebies in Tampa Bay
A number of area restaurants are offering free food and drinks to say thanks.

As America honors its military this Veterans Day, restaurants throughout the Tampa Bay area are lining up to provide free food and drinks to say their thanks.
Military members will find most of the giveaways are limited to Veterans Day, Nov. 11. To claim a freebie, bring a current ID that shows proof of status as a veteran or current member of the military. Keep in mind offers are good only at participating locations. Here’s a roundup of restaurants offering freebies:
- Applebee’s – Vets are being treated to a meal on the chain from open to close on Nov. 11 at participating locations only. Choices include fiesta lime chicken, double crunch shrimp, a 7-ounce sirloin and more. Drinks are not included.
- Bob Evans – Veterans will find a number of menu options are available to them at no charge on Nov. 11. Choices include a stack of hotcakes, French toast, the sunrise breakfast and others.
- California Pizza Kitchen – This chain is offering a free meal, as well. Veterans can select pizzas, salads or pastas.
- Cracker Barrel – Dessert is on the house at Cracker Barrel locations Nov. 11. Veterans will receive a double chocolate fudge Coca-Cola cake slice.
- Denny’s – This chain is offering a Build Your Own Grand Slam meal for vets from 5 a.m. until noon.
- Golden Corral – A sit-down dinner is being offered for anyone who has served from 5 to 9 p.m.
- Hooters – Veterans and active-duty military will receive an entrée at no cost.
- IHOP – The chain is offering a free order of Red, White & Blue Pancakes from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m.
- IKEA – A military ID is all that’s required to get a free entrée from the cafeteria through Nov. 11.
- Krystal – A free sausage or chicken biscuit is available from 6 to 11 a.m. After 11 a.m., vets can get pups or corn pups for 50 cents each.
- Little Ceasars – The pizza chain is offering its $5 Hot-N-Ready lunch combo at no charge from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m.
- Olive Garden – Free entrees, such as cheese ravioli, are on tap all Veterans Day. The chain is also offering a 10-percent-off deal for family members who dine with their vets.
- Outback Steakhouse – Free beverages and appetizers are available. All military and their families get 15 percent off their bills, too. The 15 percent deal runs Nov. 12 through Dec. 31.
- Pollo Tropical – This island-inspired chicken chain is offering veterans and active duty military 15 percent off their purchases on Nov. 11.
- Red Lobster – An appetizer or dessert is on the house from Nov. 9-12.
- Red Robin – The chain is offering its Red’s Tavern Double burger and fries.
