Woman Shot In Head During Home Invasion In Pasco Co.

Deputies released video of suspects' vehicle and arrested victim's boyfriend for alleged child neglect, claiming guns and pot found in home.

PASCO COUNTY, FL – A 31-year-old woman shot in the head during a home invasion on the 25000 block of Bristlecone Court in Wesley Chapel is hospitalized in critical condition, and her boyfriend was arrested for alleged child neglect after loaded weapons and marijuana reportedly were found in a residence, officials said today.

Detectives investigating the Tuesday shooting were given written search consent and allegedly discovered "large quantities of marijuana and marijuana derivatives" on a kitchen counter, in an office and a master bedroom "in plain view" and "within reach" of two children, ages 5 and 2, the Pasco County Sheriff's Office said.

Found under a sofa and in a low kitchen drawer were two loaded guns without safety locks and accessible to the children, according to the department.

The home invasion, meanwhile, is under investigation and described by authorities as not appearing "to be random." The suspects were described as three black males wearing dark-colored sweatshirts and bandanas concealing their faces.

"This does not appear to be a random act, and there is no indication that suspects are in the area at this time," the department said.

Surveillance video was released today of the suspects' black sedan driving in the area.

Anyone with information regarding the incident or the vehicle in the video can contact law enforcement at 1-800-706-2488 and ref number 17-42266.
