Wrestling Coach Charged in Porn Case

The Pasco man is accused of enticing teen boys to send him nude photos.

One of last season’s assistant wrestling coaches at Wesley Chapel High School faces criminal charges after Pasco County Sheriff’s deputies say he enticed teenage boys into sending him nude photographs.

Deputies say Carlos Perez, 22, has used the name “Alayna Dentry” on Facebook and other social media platforms for the last five years. Posing as Alayna, “the defendant would befriend males and send them nude photographs of an unknown female,” a probable cause affidavit stated. He would then ask for nude photos of the boys in return, a media release on the arrest stated.

“The defendant admitted to doing this and was fully aware the victims were juveniles as he was a wrestling coach at Wesley Chapel High School and personally knew some of the victims,” the affidavit stated.

Perez was brought into custody Wednesday evening after victims provided investigators with chat logs of their conversations and the photos Perez is accused of sending.

Perez, the affidavit said, provided them with information related to multiple victims, but only two have been identified at this time.

Perez was charged with two counts of electronic transmission of information harmful to minors. He remained in the Land O’ Lakes Jail Thursday in lieu of $10,000 bond, jail records indicated.

Deputies say Perez was not a full-time employee of the Pasco County School district. Rather, he worked on a contract basis during the wrestling season. His contract ended in March.
