Free Pets For Pops On Father’s Day, Pinellas County Says

Pinellas County Animal Services is opening its shelter on Sunday for a Father's Day giveaway.

Largo, FL — Pinellas County Animal Services is making a Father’s Day offer it hopes local families in the market for new pets won’t be able to refuse.

The county has announced its intention to open the doors at its Largo shelter from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Sunday, June 19, for a free pet giveaway.

“Adoption fees will be waived for all fathers who adopt during this event,” the county said in an email to media. “Every pet that gets adopted will go home with a bag of food and a surprise treat.”

All dogs and cats available for adoption have been checked out by a vet, have been spayed or neutered and have their vaccinations. In addition, they’ve had parasite control, heartworm tests, microchipping and more. All that adds up to about a $200 value, the county said.

To take advantage of the offer, just visit the shelter at 12450 Ulmerton Road in Largo. The shelter is normally open from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. Monday through Friday. The adoption center typically closes at 5:30 p.m. Normal Saturday hours are 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.
