Largo Man Killed In Clearwater Stabbing

The Friday morning incident, which reportedly began at the Shipwreck Bar, is under investigation by the Clearwater Police Department.

CLEARWATER, FL β€” The Clearwater Police Department is investigating a fight that turned deadly Friday morning, leaving a Largo man dead.

According to the agency, a fight involving at least two people broke out initially at the Shipwreck Bar, 647 Mandalay Ave. The incident moved outside where the stabbing is said to have occurred around 3 a.m. near Mandalay Avenue and Royal Way.

The victim, Michael Matthew Baker, 24, of Largo was taken to a Bayfront Health St. Petersburg where he later died, police wrote in an email to media. A 25-year-old man was being interviewed in connection with the fight. Police have yet to release his name or say if any charges are anticipated.
