Police haven't released what triggered the response but stress there is no threat to the public while they continue investigating.

Pinellas school closure proposals draw concerns from families (baynews9.com) — Pinellas County school leaders, meeting in Largo, are weighing school closures and consolidations in response to declining enrollment, with no final vote yet. Parents and teachers, especially from Tarpon Springs Fundamental schools, are pressing for answers on student safety, staffing, and what happens to beloved programs before key workshops and an October 13 vote.
   

4. 38-year-old mother remains hospitalized following a 10-car crash in Largo last week (tampabay28.com) — A 38-year-old Largo mother remains hospitalized with serious brain and pelvic injuries after a 10-car crash last week that also sent three others to the hospital. Her family, relieved her young son wasn't in the car, is preparing for a long recovery involving multiple therapies while police continue investigating and friends raise money for medical expenses.
