Largo and Countryside, two of the county's football powerhouses, face off tonight.
A few days ago the Countryside Cougars won a grueling game over rival East Lake. They now travel to , which has one of the best football programs in the state.
Just like last week, the Cougars will face a stud quarterback, this time junior Juwan Brown. The left-hander is sort of a Michael Vick of high school players in that he is equally dangerous with his feet as he is with his cannon left arm.

So far Brown hasn't had to throw the ball much because he hasn't had to, and because Largo, historically, is allergic to passing. Brown’s 12 pass attempts speak more to the job Packers running back Jarvis Stewart is having. In two games, the first against state power Bradenton Southeast, Stewart has 270 yards and four touchdowns.
Not unlike East Lake, Largo is an old-fashioned smashmouth football that will ground and pound teams into a physical submission. Nothing fancy with Largo. The Packers will run on first, second and likely on third down. Defensively, opponents pay dearly for physical ground gained.

It will yet be another test for Countryside to prove the Cougars are not simply a finesse team, that they can play smashmouth football with the best of them.
A key for Countryside will be if it can get quarterback Gray Crow righted.
His start to the season hasn't been overly stellar with three interceptions thrown against two touchdowns. Crow has been cleared to play Friday as he was in a minor car accident just hours before the East Lake game. He refused medical attention and played. As a precaution, Crow sought medical attention this week and was deemed fine for this week's Largo game.
