Ridge Road Closing Extended

Motorists are urged to find alternate routes through the area.

The City of Largo has announced that work on Ridge Road is likely to take a bit longer than expected.

The city initially anticipated the road to be closed to through-traffic from just north of Ulmerton from Valencia Drive to 14th Avenue Southwest until July 14. Now, officials say the closing will last until July 31 or “as soon as the contractor finishes repairing the north and southbound lanes of Ridge Road between Valencia Drive and 16th Avenue Southwest.”

The work is being performed to correct pavement damage that occurred during an underground sewer pipe project.

“Motorists can expect delays and are advised to use alternate routes such as Seminole Boulevard,” the city wrote in an email to media.

A detour through the adjacent Ridgecrest Subdivision has been established for local traffic only. No large trucks are allowed.
