Community Tech Desk Marks National Senior Citizens Day with Free Coffee and Donuts

Free tech help returns to Lealman Exchange Tuesday, August 25, 9 a.m. to noon

Lealman, Fla. — In honor of National Senior Citizens Day, the Community Tech Desk is inviting Lealman residents to bring a friend to next week's session for free coffee and donuts. The event takes place Tuesday, August 25, from 9 a.m. to noon at the Lealman Exchange.

The Community Tech Desk has met every Tuesday at the Lealman Exchange since March, offering free, walk-in tech help to the community with a focus on serving seniors. The program is a partnership between CodeBoxx Foundation, the St. Petersburg Foundation, and Unique IT Pro.

Visitors bring in phones, tablets, laptops, and desktops for help with a range of everyday tech needs, including setting up a new device, connecting to a telehealth portal, video calling family, recovering an email account, and reviewing privacy and security settings. No appointment is required.

For the August 25 session, anyone who brings a friend, neighbor, or family member to the Community Tech Desk for the first time will receive free coffee and donuts while they wait, in celebration of National Senior Citizens Day and the residents who keep this program going.

The Community Tech Desk is free and open to all. No registration is required.
