Lee Civic Center to be torn down, but probably not anytime soon (wgcu.org) — Lehigh Acres drivers can expect 21.1 lane miles of currently unpaved neighborhood roads to be paved starting in November under a new $1.5 million county contract. Lee County commissioners also advanced major projects for the Lee Civic Center site and San Carlos Island drainage, but the roadwork in Lehigh Acres specifically targets 94 segments, with roads ranked each year by condition and nearby home construction.

Deputies seek to identify 3 Lehigh Acres Veterans Park vandalism suspects (gulfcoastnewsnow.com) — Deputies are asking Lehigh Acres residents to help identify three people accused of spray-painting concrete slabs and walls at Veterans Park on Homestead Road South. If you recognize the suspects, you can anonymously contact Southwest Florida Crime Stoppers by phone, app, or website, and may qualify for a cash reward if your tip leads to an arrest.
   

3. Lee County invests $1.5M to fix unpaved roads across Lehigh Acres (winknews.com) — Lee County has approved a $1.5 million project to pave 21.1 lane miles of currently unpaved roads across Lehigh Acres, with work starting as early as next month. Ninety-four road segments will be upgraded, prioritized by condition and nearby home construction, aiming to ease potholes, construction traffic issues, and daily driving headaches for local residents.
   

4. Leslie's closing multiple Florida pool supply stores after filing for Chapter 11 bankruptcy (orlandosentinel.com) — Lehigh Acres residents who rely on Leslie’s for pool supplies should prepare for that local store to close as part of the company’s Chapter 11 bankruptcy restructuring. The national chain is shutting 19 Florida locations while seeking new financing and a smaller footprint, but says it plans to keep operating overall even as it exits several markets.
