• Deputies release additional photos of vehicle believed to be involved in Lehigh Acres shooting (gulfcoastnewsnow.com) — Four people were hurt in a July 10 shooting on Willard Avenue in Lehigh Acres, and deputies have now released clearer photos of the silver or gray BMW they believe was involved. Investigators also shared earlier images of suspects last seen near Willard Avenue and West Ninth Street. Anyone with information can anonymously contact Southwest Florida Crime Stoppers and may qualify for a cash reward.
   

• Valerie's House awards $70,000 in college scholarships to local grieving students (capecoralbreeze.com) — Several Lehigh Acres students are among 34 young people receiving a share of $70,000 in college scholarships from Valerie’s House, which supports children grieving the loss of a loved one. Awards range from $1,500 to $5,000 and can be renewed for up to three years. The nonprofit, serving thousands across Southwest Florida, is already inviting donations for its 2027 scholarship fund.
   

• LaBelle woman gets decade in prison after plea change in fatal crash (miramarflnews.com) — A LaBelle woman has been sentenced to 10 years in prison for a 2025 hit-and-run crash at Lee Boulevard and Hanna Avenue in Lehigh Acres that killed a 60-year-old man. She pleaded no contest to leaving the scene of a deadly crash and vehicular homicide. Troopers later found her damaged Kia hidden under a tarp with its license plate removed.
