• Sarasota Bay Estuary works with residents on native planting projects (yourobserver.com) — Residents at Longboat Harbour Condominiums are transforming their Longboat Key landscaping with a $10,000 Sarasota Bay Estuary Program grant to replace invasive plants with resilient, Florida-native species. Volunteers from all 14 buildings are hand-watering new plantings along Gulf of Mexico Drive, boosting shoreline health and storm resilience while inspiring other Longboaters to consider similar restoration projects. 
• March bed tax tops $6.4M (islander.org) — Longboat Key brought in more than $506,000 in March tourist bed taxes, contributing nearly 8% of Manatee County’s record $6.4 million month. The countywide surge suggests tourism remains strong, helping fund projects like beach renourishment and other visitor-focused amenities that indirectly benefit local residents.
