• North-end restaurant plans to expand next door (yourobserver.com) — Longboat Key’s Planning and Zoning Board has unanimously backed zoning changes that would let Whitney’s restaurant expand into the former bank building next door, boosting seating from 70 to 200. The proposal, which neighbors mostly support aside from noise concerns, now heads to the Town Commission before a detailed site plan is reviewed and approved.
