• Sarasota Sailing Squadron Seeks City's Vote for a New Lease and Youth Sailing Center (lbknews.com) — A long-term lease and zoning package before the Sarasota City Commission will decide whether the Sarasota Sailing Squadron can rebuild its aging youth sailing center on City Island, a program heavily supported by Longboat Key families and donors. Approval would secure the club’s waterfront home through 2055, enable a privately funded, accessible new facility, and formalize higher fees for non-city members, many from Longboat Key.
