The man accused of the road rage shooting in Lutz Friday night is now in custody.

LUTZ, FL -- The Pasco County Sheriff's Office Warrants Unit and the Tampa Police Department have arrested the man they believe is responsible for the road rage shooting of a couple Friday night, Aug. 3, in Lutz.

Luis Ramund Brito, 49, of 4330 Lobo Lane, Lot 6, Land O' Lakes, will be booked into the Hillsborough County Jail before being transferred to the Land O' Lakes Detention Center.

The Pasco sheriff received a 911 call at 9:43 p.m. Friday indicating that a man was shot in the face after a road rage incident at the intersection of Lake Como Drive and Moss Branch Court. The woman driver also received a minor gunshot wound (see related story).

Deputies say the gunshot victims were at a four-way stop at Lake Como and Moss Branch when they encountered another car driving without its lights on.

The female driver flashed her car lights at the other car to indicate to alert him that his lights were off.
As both cars passed through the intersection, the driver with no lights fired a shotgun at the victim's car.
