Wesley Chapel Substitute Teacher Arrested For Battering Husband
For the second time in the past two weeks, Pasco County sheriff's deputies have arrested a wife for physically abusing her husband.

WESLEY CHAPEL, FL – For the second time in the past two weeks, Pasco County sheriff’s deputies have arrested a wife for physically abusing her husband.
Deputies were called to 3037 Castle Rock Circle, Wesley Chapel, on Monday, April 2 around 7 p.m. after Julio Mendez reported that his wife had attacked him.
Julio Mendez said he and his wife, Cristina Mendez, 47, a substitute school teacher for the Pasco County School District, were arguing when she struck him and scratched him. Deputies said Mendez had visible scratch marks on his left arm.

Cristina Mendez was arrested for misdemeanor domestic battery and taken to the Land O’ Lakes Detention Center.
Deputies responded to a similar complaint on March 22 when Zephyrhills resident Carol Lynn Stone, 35, was arrested for scratching and hitting her husband, Ronnie William Alexander, 41, for forgetting their wedding anniversary (see related story).

Stone was also charged with misdemeanor domestic battery and taken to the detention center.
Sheriff’s spokesman Kevin Doll said there’s no word on the nature of the argument between the Mendezes.
Stone’s ire with her husband for forgetting their anniversary became national news. Stone has not spoken publicly about the charges against her. However, she has removed the Facebook profile picture of she and her husband and replaced it with a photo of she and her two children.
