FORT LAUDERDALE, FL — Three people were rescued from waters just one mile east of Port Everglades after their 18-foot boat capsized on Saturday evening, according to a U.S. Coast Guard Southeast news release.

A good Samaritan alerted watchstanders with the U.S. Coast Guard Sector Miami about the boat taking on water around 6 p.m.

A U.S. Coast Guard Station Fort Lauderdale crew found the survivors hanging onto the hull of their boat and brought them to shore with no injuries reported, USCG said. Commercial salvage also responded to the scene to assist with the capsized boat.
