$4.6M Florida Lottery Prize Claimed By Fort Lauderdale Man
A Fort Lauderdale man won the top prize after playing the $5,000 A Week For Life scratch-off game, Florida Lottery said.
FORT LAUDERDALE, FL — A 54-year-old Fort Lauderdale man won the top prize from the $5,000 A Week For Life scratch-off game, the Florida Lottery said in a news release.
Jose Canales chose to receive his winnings as a one-time, lump-sum payment of $4.66 million. He claimed his prize at the Florida Lottery headquarters in Tallahassee.
Canales purchased his winning ticket from the Chevron gas station at 3100 West Davie Blvd. in Fort Lauderdale. The retailer will receive a $10,000 bonus commission for selling the winning ticket.

$5,000 A Week For Life, a $10 game, features more than $165.6 million in total cash prizes, including four top prizes of $5,000 a week for life. The game's overall odds of winning are one-in-3.35.
