$5 Million FL Lottery Prize Claimed By Miami-Dade County Man
A Homestead man won the $5 million top prize after playing the $5,000,000 Gold Rush Classic scratch-off game, Florida Lottery said.
HOMESTEAD, FL — A Miami-Dade County man won a $5 million top prize from the $5,000,000 Gold Rush Classic scratch-off game, Florida Lottery said in a news release.
Beres Thompson of Homestead chose to receive his winnings as a one-time, lump-sum payment of $3.55 million. He claimed his prize at Florida Lottery's headquarters in Tallahassee.
He purchased his winning ticket from Downstairs at 10 SW 14th Ave. in Homestead. The retailer will receive a $10,000 bonus commission for selling the winning ticket.

$5,000,000 Gold Rush Classic, a $20 game, launched in October 2018 and gives players the opportunity to win up to $5 million. Overall odds of winning are 1-in-2.99.
