80 Evacuated From North Miami Beach Assisted Living Facility
North Miami Beach officials said the Crystal Bay Assisted Living Facility was evacuated on Wednesday.

NORTH MIAMI BEACH, FL — Hours after eight residents of a Hollywood, Florida, nursing home died, the city of North Miami Beach confirmed that it was evacuating 80 residents of an assisted living facility on Wednesday. City officials identified the facility that is under evacuation as the Crystal Bay Assisted Living Facility. There were no reports of injuries.
North Miami Beach officials said that the city was using "trolleys and other vehicles" to assist with the evacuation. Crystal Bay is located at 16650 W. Dixie Highway. City officials attributed the evacuation to "power/AC issues." The Hollywood nursing home reportedly had no air conditioning in the aftermath of Hurricane Irma, according to Local 10 News. It was not clear whether the lack of air conditioning contributed to the resident deaths.
