Amazon Plane Crashes In FL, Hits Vehicles: Authorities

MIAMI — An Amazon plane crashed Sunday at Miami International Airport, according to the Federal Aviation Administration and as shown in a video published by NBC 6 News.

According to the FAA, 21 Air Flight 7598 overran the runway after landing around 2 p.m. at the airport. It struck multiple vehicles near the 2100 block of Northwest 42nd Avenue, according to Miami-Dade Fire Rescue.

"Units arrived to find an airplane that had caught on fire as a result of this crash, with heavy flames and smoke showing," according to a statement from the rescue agency. "Firefighters are working on extinguishing the fire, and there are multiple patients."

In the video, a massive plume of smoke was coming from the aircraft, which appeared to be labeled with the Amazon logo, and fire was visible.

The scene was active on Sunday afternoon, with over 60 fire and rescue agency units responding.

The Boeing 767-300 cargo aircraft had departed from Luis Muñoz Marín International Airport in San Juan, Puerto Rico, according to the FAA, which will investigate the incident.
