3. ICE deports Venezuelan official accused of torture. He lived in South Florida (miamiherald.com) — Federal immigration agents in Miami have deported a former Venezuelan National Guard officer accused in a Miami federal lawsuit of overseeing torture during protests against the Maduro government. Miami-based ICE, FBI, and Homeland Security teams coordinated his removal as part of a broader push targeting South Florida residents linked to alleged human rights abuses abroad.
4. Man hospitalized after crashing into large tree in Miami (wsvn.com) — A driver was hospitalized after crashing into a large tree at Northwest 11th Avenue and First Street in a Miami neighborhood Wednesday evening, causing the tree to collapse onto his car. Miami Fire Rescue says his head injury was not serious, and city crews worked into the night clearing debris before reopening the road.
5. Dolly Parton's Imagination Library inspires a love of reading in South Florida kids (local10.com) — Families in Miami Lakes can sign up young children to receive free, age-appropriate books each month through Dolly Parton's Imagination Library, funded locally by the town.
