Baby Goat Stolen From South FL Nonprofit Farm: Video

Surveillance video footage shows two men stealing Tonka, a 5-month-old goat, from HAPPI, a Miami-area nonprofit educational farm.

DAVIE, FL — A South Florida educational farm is begging the people who stole a baby goat from their property early Saturday morning to bring her back.

Diana McClure, who owns Tonka, the 5-month-old goat, and works at HAPPI Farm in Davie, told WSVN that she’s devastated by the loss.

“She’s very social. She’s very attached to me; I bottle-fed her since she was a baby,” she said. “I couldn’t sleep last night. I kept waking up, checking my camera to see that hopefully they brought her back maybe. I’m hoping they get annoyed with her and bring her back. Something, I don’t know. I want her back.”

Video surveillance footage shows two suspects walking around the farm and grabbing the goat just before 1:30 a.m., according to the Miami Herald. (Watch the footage below.)

The farm’s owner, Marie Lim, told Local 10 News, “I thought someone moved her, and when my other friends here said they didn’t move her, we realized she was gone.”

She added, “I’m afraid — I’m afraid to walk out here at night now.”

Anyone with information is asked to call Davie police at 954-693-8200 or Broward County Crime Stoppers at 954-493-TIPS.

Lim said Tonka is white and was wearing a pink collar with rhinestones. She posted on Facebook that the farm is offering a reward for her return.

HAPPI — which stands for Horse and Petting Pal Interaction — is a nonprofit farm that offers educational programming and helps people with special needs connect with animals.

The farm also recently experienced damage from Hurricane Ian. Strong winds destroyed stables and sent a tree crashing into a car, Local 10 News reported.
