City Launches 'Buy Miami' Program To Promote Small Businesses

The City of Miami this week launched the new Buy Miami promotional program, aimed at helping local small businesses recover following the COVID-19 economic shutdown, while offering special deals to customers. Buy Miami offers free, individualized online promotional listings on the City’s newly created www.buy.miami website to small businesses located within City of Miami limits. In return for the free promotion, qualifying small businesses must offer special deals to customers, such as “Buy One, Get One” offers, 15%-plus discounts and more. The deals present a welcome buying opportunity for Miamians who are coping with the economic impacts of COVID-19.

"Our local small businesses were deeply affected by the COVID-19 shutdown, so we're looking for simple ways to help them get customers back in the door," said Miami Mayor Francis Suarez. "Buy Miami delivers by giving merchants an exclusive online platform to market their services - and their special deals - to customers, whether it's a restaurant, bookstore, print shop or other small business. Likewise, our residents have been financially impacted by the shutdown and this program will benefit them through special pricing and deals."

Buy Miami, created by the City of Miami’s Department of Human Services, is easy for businesses to sign up for and simple for shoppers to use. Participating businesses located in the City of Miami are required to provide basic information about themselves using buy.miami’s sign up form, including: contact information, website and hours of operation, a brief overview of the business and its services and a summary of the special discount being offered. Shoppers can search the database by business category to find great deals at their favorite businesses. Shoppers can nominate local businesses to join the Buy Miami promotional program, too.
