City Of Miami Announces Student Art Competition
The theme is "What Miami Means to Me."
This month, the City of Miami, in partnership with the Dade Heritage Trust, is hosting the inaugural “What Miami Means to Me” Visual Arts Competition for local students in grades K-12 as part of its 125th Anniversary celebration. Students are invited to showcase their artistic talents and create their own original representation of an area of the Magic City that is dear to them, in keeping with the competition’s theme. Miami has grown exponentially since its incorporation in 1896, becoming a melting pot for different cultures that each have a strong leaning towards the visual arts, and this year’s visual arts competition provides a natural platform to amplify and showcase Miami’s unique culture and history.
