ALINA Residences Boca Raton Unveils One of Its Largest Residences, Listed for $9.38 Million

The guest journey starts way before check-in

Think about the last time you booked a trip somewhere new. Odds are you didn't just find a hotel and reserve a room on the spot. You looked around first. You checked the photos, read a few reviews, maybe pulled up the property's Instagram to get a feel for the place. By the time you actually booked, you'd already formed an opinion.
Your guests do exactly the same thing. Social media has quietly become one of the first stops in the booking journey, and the numbers back it up. Roughly 75% of travelers say social media influences where they choose to go, and most now research a trip across several platforms before they commit. People are looking at your feed to answer a simple question: "Is this the kind of place I want to be?"
So your social presence is doing real work before anyone at your property ever says hello. It's shaping the impression, building the interest, and either earning the click to your booking page or quietly losing it.

Social media is your digital concierge

Here's the way we like to think about it. A great front desk team does something special. They read the room, answer questions before you have to ask, make you feel looked after, and gently guide you toward the things that will make your stay better. That kind of hospitality is the heart of a luxury or boutique property.
Social media is that same instinct, just working digitally and at a much larger scale. Your concierge can look after the guests standing in the lobby. Your social channels can look after multiple requests from of people quietly considering a stay, all at once, at any hour.
When someone drops a comment asking whether you're pet friendly, that's a concierge moment. When a traveler sends a DM wondering if the rooftop is open in October, that's one too. And these moments happen constantly.

Travelers are far more comfortable firing off a quick message to a page than picking up the phone, and the hotels winning attention right now are the ones that actually reply, ask questions back, and treat every interaction like a warm front-desk exchange.

None of this replaces your in-person team. It extends them. The same care your staff show at check-in can live in the way you answer a comment, the tone of your captions, and the little details you choose to share. It's hospitality, delivered through a screen, to people who haven't arrived yet.

Answering questions is where bookings are won

Most people don't book the second they discover you. They have questions first, and every question is really a small moment of hesitation. Is it worth the price? Will it suit a couple, or is it more of a family spot? What's actually nearby?
This is where an active social presence quietly earns its keep. When a potential guest can scroll your feed and see the answers, or send a quick message and get a genuine, helpful reply, that hesitation starts to melt. You're not just posting pretty pictures. You're removing the reasons someone might have said "maybe later" and closed the tab.
The signals that matter most have shifted, too. Follower counts look nice, but saves, shares, replies, and DMs are the real indicators that your content is connecting. A save means someone is planning. A DM means someone is seriously considering. Those are the people at the edge of booking, and how you handle that conversation often decides whether they do.

Why direct bookings are the whole point

Let's talk about why this matters to your bottom line, not just your brand.
When a traveler discovers you on social, falls for the place, and books directly through your website, something valuable happens. You keep the commission you'd otherwise hand to an online travel agency, which typically takes somewhere between 15% and 25% of the booking. You also own the relationship from that point on. You have their details, you can welcome them properly, and you can invite them back yourself instead of paying to reach them again.
Direct bookings from social also tend to come from guests who already like you. They didn't stumble onto a rate on a comparison site. They chose you because something about your feed or your reply made them feel like this was their kind of place. Those guests often arrive with a warmer feeling toward the property before they've even walked in.
That's the real path from followers to front desk. Someone finds you, connects with what they see, gets their questions answered, books directly, and shows up already halfway in love with the place.

Let's turn your followers into guests

At StorySpace, we're a hotel social media agency for luxury and boutique properties, and this is exactly the work we love. We help hotels build a social presence that welcomes future guests as warmly as their front desk welcomes the ones already there, and turns all of it into direct bookings.
If you are looking for a partner to take your social media game to the next level, then let's connect, or visit our website to learn more!

Owning a rental property in Miami can look simple when everything is going right. The problems usually start when small issues are allowed to sit. Here are five that we see become expensive quickly:1. Vacancy that lasts too longHolding out for a slightly higher rent can cost more than adjusting the price early if the property sits empty for several extra weeks.2. Small maintenance problemsA minor leak, AC issue or plumbing problem can turn into a much larger repair when it is ignored.3. Weak tenant documentationApplications, leases, notices, payment history and maintenance records should be organized from the beginning. Trying to rebuild the file later is much harder.4. Slow follow-up on past-due rentThe longer a balance grows, the harder it usually becomes to resolve. Consistent communication and documentation matter.5. Managing everything reactivelyRental properties run better when inspections, lease expirations, maintenance and financial reporting are tracked before something becomes urgent. At Nadlan Management, we manage single-family, multifamily, apartment, commercial and Section 8 rental properties throughout Miami-Dade and Broward Counties. A big part of property management is simply catching problems while they are still small.More information: https://www.nadlanmanagement.com/

We are grateful to have the City and Chamber alongside us as we introduce these concepts to Hollywood and look forward to becoming a place where the community can gather, connect and create memorable experiences for years to come.”

Common Room and The Brooklyn Room Speakeasy Celebrate Grand Opening

The Community Foundation of Broward, in collaboration with the Broward County Cultural Division, and the Cultural Foundation of Broward, presented an intimate reception for an inspiring public art initiative that will light up Fort Lauderdale’s 17th Street Causeway Bridge.
The special reception showcased “Everyone Under the Stars,” a light-based artwork by designer Tracey Dear that will dramatically transform this key community artery into a mesmerizing visual experience. This dynamic public art project, to be completed in early 2028, will shine a colorful combination of lights on the bridge, creating an awe-inspiring complement to the new Broward Convention Center and Omni Hotel and re-imagined Pier Sixty-Six. The reception was held at held at Pier Sixty-Six Residences overlooking the bridge, where potential supporters learned more about the project and connected with the artist and project leaders.
Funded by the Broward County Commission and local corporations, foundations, and individuals, “Everyone Under the Stars” will stand as a testament to Broward County's 50-year commitment to public art, illuminating the region as a welcoming cultural destination for all. Tracey Dear of Dear Productions of Oak Park, IL, was selected to create the installation. Dear is an internationally renowned exterior lighting innovator known for his remarkable aesthetic vision and technical resourcefulness.

A $6 million campaign is underway to support this special project; more than half of that amount has been secured, and conversations are underway to reach the goal by the time the lights are turned on.
“Public art plays an important role in shaping the identity of a community. It brings people together, creates moments of connection and adds character to the places we call home,” said Jennifer O'Flannery Anderson, Ph.D., President/CEO of the Community Foundation of Broward. “We are honored to work with the Broward County Cultural Division, the Cultural Foundation of Broward and Tracey Dear to bring ‘Everyone Under the Stars’ to Fort Lauderdale and to be part of an effort that celebrates creativity while contributing to the city’s continued growth and vibrancy. We hope this artwork inspires both residents and visitors and becomes a lasting part of Fort Lauderdale’s cultural landscape.”
“Everyone Under the Stars” will complete the renaissance of the gateway to the Fort Lauderdale beach, which includes the complete reimagination of the iconic Pier Sixty-Six, and the new Broward Convention Center and Omni Hotel. It will connect homes and hotels, restaurants and educational institutions, the cruise industry and the entire marine community.
Bridges are figuratively and metaphorically powerful symbols. They embody the idea of linking places, ideas, or people, facilitating communication and unity. Metaphorically, bridges can signify personal or emotional growth, acting as pathways that allow individuals to move from one phase of life to another, bridging the gap between the past and the future. In literature and art, they often symbolize hope, progress, and the possibility of new beginnings. They also become icons for some of the world’s most famous cities.
Dear made his name in the architectural lighting design field in 1998 with a desire to use his vast knowledge of event lighting to pursue architectural projects. Having worked with some of the largest names in the music industry in the world’s most famous concert halls, Dear turned his attention to architectural illumination.
The Community Foundation during its past fiscal year provided $3 million in support for arts and culture. Thanks to that support, more than 166,000 individuals experienced museums and historic attractions, 65,000 community members engaged in arts festivals, exhibitions, and performances, and 9,500 participants, from students to seniors, took part in arts training and arts-based educational programs.
The Community Foundation shepherds 600 charitable funds totaling $360 million in value. Since its founding in 1984, the Foundation has provided more than $250 million in grants that support education, the arts, the environment, economic mobility, seniors and many other opportunities to improve life in Broward County. Fundholders enlist the Foundation's expert staff to manage their funds and help them be more strategic and impactful with their giving. The permanent home is another example of the powerful, enduring impact of local philanthropy.

The Community Foundation of Broward and Cultural Foundation of Broward Host Reception

Peter Iglesias, longtime executive, author and podcast host, launched the Men on a Mission Foundation during a Sept. 30 kick-off event in Fort Lauderdale. To kick off the Foundation, $20,000 was already committed to support its mission of advancing men’s mental health awareness and suicide prevention. As part of the Foundation’s launch, Men on a Mission announced a $10,000 donation from The Scott Family Foundation, with support from Men on a Mission board member and physical health pillar leader Doug Scott, owner of 4Ever Young locations in Delray Beach and Weston. The donation was matched with an additional $10,000 through a donor-advised fund with National Christian Foundation, bringing the Foundation’s initial funding to $20,000. The Men on a Mission Kick-Off Event, held at Sakana Nikkei in downtown Fort Lauderdale, celebrated the official launch of the Foundation and the release of Iglesias’ new book, “It’s Okay to Not Be Okay.” The evening introduced the community to the broader Men on a Mission platform and Iglesias’ mission to change the way men talk about mental health, identity, success, faith, purpose and asking for help. “This support means so much because it shows there is a real need and a community that believes in what we are building,” said Iglesias, founder and CEO of the Men on a Mission Foundation. “Men need a safe space where they can have honest conversations, find resources and know they do not have to navigate difficult moments alone. This is just the beginning.” The Men on a Mission Foundation is dedicated to advancing men’s mental health awareness and suicide prevention through education, resources, honest conversations, partnerships, programming and community engagement. Its work centers around four interconnected pillars of men’s overall health: mental health, physical health, spiritual health, and community health and connection. The Foundation is part of the broader Men on a Mission platform Iglesias has developed to encourage more open conversations around men’s mental health and overall well-being. The platform also includes the Men on a Mission Podcast and Iglesias’ newly released book. During the event, Iglesias shared the vision behind Men on a Mission and was joined by the leaders representing each of the Foundation’s four pillars: Daniel Rubin, mental health; Doug Scott, physical health; Pastor Neal Graham, spiritual health; and Patrick Neeley, community health and connection. Each spoke about the role their respective pillar plays in supporting men’s overall health and well-being. In “It’s Okay to Not Be Okay,” Iglesias opens up about childhood trauma, family, relationships, health, faith and the pressure to continually perform. After more than 25 years in executive leadership, Iglesias began reconsidering his own definition of success and ultimately found a new sense of purpose rooted in faith, connection and service to others. “I spent much of my life measuring success by what I could accomplish,” said Iglesias. “What I have learned is that real success is much more deeply connected to who you are, your faith, your purpose, the people around you and your willingness to ask for help when you need it. I wrote ‘It’s Okay to Not Be Okay’ because I know there are men who need to hear that message.” The book, podcast and Foundation are intentionally connected. The book shares Iglesias’ personal story, the podcast expands the conversation through the experiences and perspectives of others, and the Foundation is designed to turn those conversations into action through education, resources, partnerships, programming and community engagement. Through the Men on a Mission Podcast, which has more than 100,000 YouTube subscribers, Iglesias brings together guests for candid conversations about mental health, leadership, entrepreneurship, faith, physical wellness, resilience, relationships, identity and personal development. The goal is to address topics men may not always feel comfortable discussing openly and create conversations that encourage connection, reflection and asking for help. The Men on a Mission podcast is available on YouTube, Apple Podcasts and Spotify.
