American Heritage Schools Pre-Medical Program Hosts Superhero Party for Pediatric Cancer Patients

Every child has the power to be a hero! 35 students from American Heritage Schools’ Pre-Medical Program, from both their Broward and Palm Beach campuses, donned their capes and organized the 27th Annual Superhero Party at The Nicklaus Children’s Hospital at Broward Health Medical Center for 24 pediatric cancer patients on Oct. 2.
The Pre-Med Society, under the guidance of Dr. Carlos Pulido, director of American Heritage Schools’ Pre-Medical Program, organized the day and decorated the hospital auditorium with superhero-themed décor before the event.
During the superhero party, the patients had the opportunity to write their wish lists for Santa and mail them to the North Pole, play board games and dress up as their favorite superheroes. For each list, American Heritage Schools Pre-Medical Program students plan to raise funds to make those wishes come true and celebrate with the patients at their holiday party at the Broward Health Medical Center.
In addition, 60 students from American Heritage Schools’ Pre-Medical Program, from both campuses, will host the upcoming 27th annual holiday party for 24 pediatric cancer patients from Salah Foundation Children’s Hospital at Broward Health Medical Center.
American Heritage Schools’ Pre-Medical Program has hosted this initiative for the past 27 years. The dedication of the Pre-Med Society and its students has touched the lives of countless families, with over 1,000 American Heritage Schools’ students participating in the program’s 27-year history. The students’ passion for contributing and community involvement is reflected in the thousands of dollars raised through local fundraising events, which enabled them to build two new pediatric playrooms at Broward General Hospital.
The hospital staff support the students in their mission to brighten the lives of young superheroes battling cancer at the Nicklaus Children’s Hospital at Broward Health Medical Center.
