Drowning Dog Rescued From Miami Canal By Firefighters: Fire Rescue
The dog had been struggling in the water for hours before a Miami fireboat crew was able to rescue her Wednesday, Miami Fire Rescue said.
MIAMI, FL — A drowning dog was rescued from a Belle Meade canal on Wednesday, Miami Fire Rescue shared on social media.
The dog was in distress, struggling in the water possibly for hours, neighbors who heard her barking told the fire department.
The pooch, a boxer mix, was likely in the water for about three hours, according to WPLG.

A fireboat crew member, Rudy Gil, jumped into the water and saved her.
“Other than exhaustion, she seems to be in good health,” the fire department said. “No matter how big or small, a life is a life, and we strive to save as many as we can!”

The pup was in good health and now the department is trying to track down her owner.
