Decorated Navy veteran E. Matthew ‘Whiz’ Buckley is honored to have been selected as an honorary co-chair for the Walk Like MADD & MADD Dash Fort Lauderdale 5K

Buckley lost his older sister in 1982 when he was still in high school, and she was attending Villanova University. She was 19 years old. In an effort to heal and make sure that such a tragedy would happen again, he was inspired to volunteer with Mothers Against Drunk Driving. Since getting involved with the Walk Like MADD & MADD Dash Fort Lauderdale 5K in 2018, he has been the top fundraiser every year.

“I am humbled and honored to serve again,” said Buckley. “My family and I will never get over the senseless loss of Monica and I’m going to do all I can to see that others don’t suffer the way we did.”
