East Bascule Bridge on Venetian Causeway Temporarily Closing to Boat Traffic
The bridge is becoming more bike friendly.

MIAMI BEACH, FL — The Venetian East Bascule Bridge will be closed to boat traffic between Tuesday and Saturday as road crews install bike-friendly grating on the bridge.

Traffic will continue in both directions but one lane will be closed on the bridge during the work.

The East Bascule Bridge, which recently underwent repairs, links downtown Miami with Miami Beach and the Venetian Islands.
Constructed in 1927, the Venetian Causeway consists of 12 bridges – 10 fixed and two bascule bridges – which span the 11 man-made Venetian Islands.
