FLORIDA — Seventeen states, including Florida, are supporting a lawsuit filed by the state of Texas Tuesday in hopes of overturning President-elect Joe Biden’s win against Donald Trump in the 2020 presidential election, Dallas News reported.

These Republican-led states filed an amicus motion of support Wednesday urging the U.S. Supreme Court to hear the lawsuit, which argues that the presidential race results in Georgia, Pennsylvania, Michigan and Wisconsin were impacted by “voting irregularities.” The lawsuit, filed by Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton, asks the Supreme Court to overturn the results in these states, which were all won by Biden. This would negate around 10.4 million votes that favored Biden over Trump, reports said.

The states that filed Wednesday’s motion supporting the lawsuit include Alabama, Arkansas, Florida, Indiana, Kansas, Louisiana, Mississippi, Missouri, Montana, Nebraska, North Dakota, Oklahoma, South Carolina, South Dakota, Tennessee, Utah and West Virginia.

“The integrity and resolution of the 2020 election is of paramount importance,” Florida Attorney General Ashley Moody tweeted Wednesday afternoon. “The United States Supreme Court should weigh the legal arguments of the Texas motion and all pending matters so that Americans can be assured the election was fairly reviewed and decided.”

Trump has also asked the Supreme Court to join the lawsuit. Since Election Day, Trump and the Republican Party have either lost or withdrawn more than 50 post-election lawsuits challenging the validity of Biden’s win, Forbes reported.
