Giving Tuesday 2018: 100 Popular Miami Charities
These 100 nonprofits around Miami received the greatest number of individual donations during The Miami Foundation's Give Miami Day.

MIAMI – Today may be Giving Tuesday, but with so many nonprofits around the Miami area, it's always difficult to know where to send your donations. Patch compiled a list of the 100 charities around Miami that took in the greatest number of single donations during The Miami Foundation's recent Give Miami Day.
These weren't necessarily the charities that raised the most money, but we think they are worthy of your consideration given the sheer volume of gifts they received.

This year's event generated a total of 33,064 separate gifts totaling $11.6 million, more than in any of the six previous years.
Other organizations that did not make our list may have raised larger — but fewer — donations. All of the organizations on our list represent local nonprofits covering a wide spectrum of interests from arts and housing to science and technology.

"It's one of the biggest annual giving events in the United States, allowing every Miamian to unify and support the important work nonprofits do every day to improve our South Florida communities," explained The Miami Foundation's Matthew Beatty. "Everyone can be a philanthropist during those 24 hours. Just click, find an organization working on a cause you care about, and make a donation to help build a better Greater Miami.
