Minutes before this, the gunman chased another random man, shooting at him, but missing, reports said.

Timothy Burgess told CBS4 Miami that he saw the gunman, later identified by police as Tamarius Blair Davis, take a gun out of his backpack in an alley near the restaurant and start shooting at him.

“I’m like, ‘Hey, this guy’s got a gun.’ And I get over here and he’s on me and he’s like chasing me around the car,” Burgess said.

Burgess ran from the area for his safety.

Miami Beach police investigating the shooting took Davis into custody, later arresting and charging him with second-degree murder and attempted second-degree murder. He’s being held without bond, police said.

Davis told police that he was high on mushrooms at the time of the random shooting and felt empowered, reports said.
